A Diary of An Ordinary Family Doing Ordinary Things ….
This weekend Elina and I picked up a little metal mailbox (alterable), and I explained to Elina how it was used – the mailman would put in a letter and pop-up a little “You’ve Got Mail” stick.
Then I went to the gym, then the grocery store and home and she was already in bed.
I saw the little mailbox in front of my door and the little “You’ve Got Mail” was up.
Elina’s note read the following:
Dina. Pleez cum to me beecoz I luv you. Elina
(Translated to: Mommy, Please come to me because I love you, Elina)
She’s in Senior Kindergarten and is learning to read and write (she’s only 5) and wrote her first sentence in a cute little note for me. This is definitely a “keeper” (the note that is). It bought a tear to my eye. I read it to Herman and he said … “We did a great job”! (in raising her). I quickly made up a little card telling her how much I loved her and left it for her for the morning.
